What Is a Huber Needle?

Huber needle is a non-coring needle designed for implantable port-a-caths and mediaports. The needle tip is curved at a special angle to prevent cutting the silicone diaphragm and is inserted in a “detach and close” manner.

This can effectively reduce diaphragm injury and prolong the service life of the infusion port, making it the most commonly used for chemotherapy, contrast injection, and long-term infusion port needles.

In short, the needle is a specialized medical device for accessing a port with needle. It is a fine-grained, high-safety puncture tool that is standard with all implantable drug delivery devices.

Huber Needle Port Access

A full evaluation should be completed before performing the upper arm port puncture.

Then the skin was disinfected according to the standard, with the injection port as the center, using alcohol first, followed by iodophor, from inside to outside, with clockwise and counterclockwise alternating spiral cleaning, a total of three times.

At the time of puncture, the injection base was fixed by the thumb, index finger, and middle finger of the non-dominant hand so that it arched in a triangular shape and found the center point.

Finally, the 10 × 12 cm transparent patch was fixed with the lifting platform method to make the whole needle port access process safe, stable, and suitable for long-term infusion needs.

Advantages of Huber Port Needle

Wings on Both Sides

Soft Butterfly Wings Design

The huber non-coring needle uses soft material with bilateral fixed butterfly wings, which can conform to the skin surface and reduce tenderness. The better the FIT, the more stable the puncture point and the more suitable it is for long-term port access or continuous infusion of clinical needs.

Single-handed Clamp

Single-handed Clamp

The flexible single-handed clamp can quickly complete the sealing operation without changing the puncture angle and effectively reduce the risk of blood return. For health care workers who frequently perform huber ultra-needle removal and flushing care, the procedure is smoother.

Straight-flow, Low-profile Connector

Straight-flow Low-profile Connector

Diaminy's huber needle set uses a straight-through low-profile connector with a small raised design to reduce foreign body sensation, making it more comfortable for patients to move, wear clothing, or perform upper-arm port use. The power porter needle is a truly experience-focused solution.

Non Coring Huber Needle Package

Blister Transparent Packaging

The products use visual blister packaging, the internal structure and model at a glance, and easy-to-quickly-identify clinical huber needle sizes, specifications, and accessory combinations, improve the efficiency of use, and have good dust pollution protection.

Multiple International Certifications

Authenticated

Diaminy supplies port needles with ISO, CE, and other certifications. The materials and manufacturing processes are in line with international standards for medical devices, so the hospital, the clinic, and the specialized injection organization have a long-term, stable, reliable choice for purchase.

Gamma, EO Sterilization

EO Strictly Sterilized

Each non-coring needle is EO sterilized and has a batch traceability system. Stable and residue-free sterilization ensures consistent safety when accessing a port-a-cath needle, making it more suitable for long-term implantable drug delivery devices.

Standard Puncture vs. Huber Needle

From the picture, the ordinary puncture needle is more like a straight needle structure, which penetrates directly into the skin vertically. Due to the sharp bevel of the needle tip, it is easy to cause “cutting damage” when passing through the silicone diaphragm of the infusion port. Long-term repeated use can accelerate diaphragm rupture.

Diaminy's non-coring needles use a specially designed “non-invasive” needle tip that bends at a special angle to enter the diaphragm without cutting the material; They gently part and allow the diaphragm to close itself after pulling out the needle, significantly extending the life of the port-a-cath.

FAQs of Port Needle

How to deaccess a port huber needle?

After stopping the infusion, ensure that the tube is fully rinsed and sealed, then remove the applicator, stabilize the port body, and pull the port needle out smoothly vertically. After needle removal, press the puncture site and apply a sterile dressing.
Many health care providers ask buyers about compatibility. If you plan to buy huber needle online, be sure to choose a model with a safety design that is more stable and safer for pulling the needle.

How long can a huber needle stay in a port?

The routine indwelling time is less than 7 days in the clinic, which is adjusted according to the hospital policy and the patient's condition. For long-term use, a non-coring huber needle with a stable wing and a flexible extension tube is needed to prevent skin irritation or problems with the infusion.
Purchasers usually give preference to products from reliable huber needle manufacturers when selecting models to ensure that materials and retention are safe and up to standard.

Can a power port needle be used for high-pressure injection or contrast imaging?

Yes, but you must choose a power port needle designed for stressful situations. These models can withstand pressures up to 300 PSI without damaging the port diaphragm.
When searching for huber needle on sale, many overseas buyers prefer models labeled “Power Injectable” to ensure compatibility.

Where can I buy huber needles of reliable quality and at a reasonable price?

Buyers can buy huber non-coring needle online, but it's safer to work with a trusted manufacturer. For example, a non-coring needle manufacturer with a certification system, batch tracing, EO sterilization processes, or export experience is a port needle supplier.
Not only do they offer steady prices, but they also offer better discounts on implantable port access needles on sale when buying in bulk.

How often should a huber needle be changed?

Standard practice is to change every 7 days; if the application is loose, there is needle instability, or there are puncture point abnormalities, it needs to be changed in advance.
When purchasing in bulk in hospitals or clinics, it is recommended to select a needle supplier with stable supply to ensure the continuous use of patients with long-term treatment.
